The National Social Security Institute didn’t respect court orders!!!In Brazil, we sometimes have very unusual news. This is one of them. The National Social Security Institute (called here INSS) has one particularly frequent behavior: not respecting judicial deadlines. For this reason the federal prosecutors made one formal agreement with the INSS with the expecting that the institute changes this illegal behavior and respect the deadlines. But if they don’t respect the agreement, they will be fined. The big news is: the INSS didn’t care about it. And they will suffer a heavy penalty now. Note: The plaintiffs of INSS are old and/or disabled people who have won a lawsuit (most of the time about money which they really need for personal survival) and couldn’t benefit from the court orders. I wonder if those people’s access to justice is effective?! I don’t think so.
